The AAUD provides a variety of opportunities for citizens to help in the community. Call us at 724-378-7422 for a list of current opportunities. Volunteers have assisted the AAUD in many capacities:

Serving on the AAUD Board of Directors

• The AAUD has between 10 and 18 board members who meet formally once a month. The individuals who sit on the board possess a variety of skills and experiences and make up a diverse representation of people. All are dedicated to improving conditions in Aliquippa and the surrounding area. Call 724-378-7422 for current opportunities.

Student Program Participation

The AAUD provides a wide variety of programs for children of all ages. We need assistants, chaperones, speakers, helpers. The following are examples of ways you can volunteer:

• The AAUD’s Workforce Development Resource Room is equipped with five wireless internet-linked computers. We set appointments to introduce new computer users to the wonders of twenty-first century technology. Sessions can be arranged for an hour and a half.

Delivering Fliers and Newsletters

• The AAUD often has events or newsletters that need to be delivered around town. This is a job that can be done in an hour or two periodically.

Serving with the RSVP

• The RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) recruits hundreds of volunteers who give their time providing a wide variety of activities to human service agencies throughout Beaver County. Usual minimum time commitment is 4 hours per week.

Building Repair and Maintenance

• The AAUD buildings on Franklin Avenue are always in need of repair. Painting, floor polishing, window washing, small plumbing projects, carpentry - if you have the talent, we have the project!

DONORS - General Information

All Aliquippa Alliance for Unity and Development (AAUD) programs and services are made possible by individual and corporate donations, foundation grants, and federal and State funding. Many of our foundation and government funders require matching funds from other sources, so your private donations allow us to attract additional funding from these sources, greatly increasing the impact of your donations.

The AAUD is an IRS Registered 501c3 so all contributions are tax deductible. We are a 20 yr-old professional agency with a strong board of directors and management staff so you can be assured that your funds will be used wisely in the Aliquippa area. You will be furnished with a receipt on our letterhead acknowledging your gift. Donations can be made anonymously.

We would be happy to meet with potential donors to discuss specific goals and programs you might want to fund, as well as any volunteer assistance you could provide.
